What is required for boarding?
|
|
| |
|
Your pet will be
required to be healthy and current on all vaccinations. The required
vaccinations for dogs are DHLPP,
Rabies and Kennel Cough (Bordatella). Puppies are
required to have completed their entire series of shots through rabies.
If your dog is under
6 months of age, we will need to talk directly with your veterinarian
regarding the puppy's health. In all cases, the owner will need to
provide a current copy of shot records that Petport Boarding can keep for
it's records.
Your check-in
may take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes depending on your dog's vaccination
status. Please allow enough time for it.

How often
do the dogs get to go outside?
|
|
| |
|
A minimum of 3-4 times
a day, Petport campers get to run and play in our 1/2 acre grass-covered
play yard. We try to let campers out in playgroups, depending on who
is visiting us at the time. But, if you prefer, they will be walked
individually.

Danes. During the day, weather permitting, all runs have access to
outside runs of the same size of our double runs (8 foot by 8 foot).
For maximum space, two indoor runs with access to a double outside run can
be reserved, providing almost 130 square feet of area for your canine
family.

What
grooming services do you
offer? |
|
| |
|
Upon request, dogs can
be brushed and bathed the last day before going home. We don't do any
trimming of the dog's coat. The charge for this service is $25 per
dog.
If you would like a
more detailed groom, we do have groomers that we recommend. Depending
on our schedule and that of the groomer, we can take your dog for grooming
while you are away. We charge $0.50 per mile for our round trip to
drop your dog off and pick it up from the groomer. Your pet must have
boarded at least once before with Petport, to be eligible for this service.

How far in advance
should I make a reservation?
|
|
| |
|
During holidays, we
recommend that you make your reservation at least 3-4 weeks ahead of time.
But, if we are full, we can put you on a cancellation list. During off peak
times, calling a week in advance to reserve a spot is fine. It is best to
call us as soon as you know your travel plans.
You MUST call with
changes of dates. During high season, although we will give every
effort, we may not always be able to accommodate all itinerary changes.

What do we need to
bring for our pet? |
|
| |
|
We provide blankets and bowls, but you are welcome to
bring anything you think will make your pet’s stay more comfortable (crates,
toys, chews, treats, etc.). We don’t recommend bringing “nice” beds.
Seemingly, the beds in the best shape are the ones that get chewed up or
peed on.
